A vacancy has arisen for a talented individual to join our Commercial Department. The role would be based at our HQ at Douglas Bader House, adjacent to RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, approximately 20 minutes from Swindon. RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises organises a host of aviation related events including the Royal International Air Tattoo that attracts 185,000 visitors for a weekend of spectacular aviation action every year. Our commercial activities enable us to gift our profits to The RAF Charitable Trust in order to foster and encourage an interest in aviation amongst young people and to inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals – whether engineers, pilots or ground crew. This busy and exciting role is ideally suited to someone with a retail/events background and who has a first-class customer relations mind set. You’ll be handling our overall trading operation for all official merchandising, on-line campaigns and event programmes.

Main Responsibilities include:

• Purchase products in relation to all merchandising campaigns and provide stock control supervision, security and delivery, in liaison with the Marketing and Customer Services Departments and Finance Team
• Report regularly on sales against agreed targets
• Assist in creating new revenue earning opportunities by identifying new product lines or suppliers
• Co-ordinate the production of the Royal International Air Tattoo souvenir programme in conjunction with the Editor
• To recruit, support, develop and manage the performance of a team of volunteers and one temporary assistant

About You:

Education and Experience:

• A Level or equivalent standard of education
• Experience of working in a marketing environment and in the retail gift sector
• Financial and budget management understanding
• People management experience
