DCMS/PHE Festivals Working GroupSusan Tanner and Nick Morgan sit on this working group with some of the largest promoters in the UK, including Live Nation and Kilimanjaro, whose primary objective is to write enabling guidance to help support festivals / outdoor events through the planning stages for 2021 events.
With the ever changing landscape it’s a real challenge, however both DCMS and PHE are engaged and there are now sub groups formed looking at seven key areas from close contact /security, service points, sanitation through to changes in site layout.
Additionally, the group is lobbying for extra sector support including a government backed insurance to allow Promoters to start planning, with the confidence they are afforded some protection if their shows gets cancelled with short notice. In turn this will start to unlock much needed cash to the value chain in the form of deposits.
