A full-time position based in the Society Offices on the Showground at Shepton Mallet

The Mid-Somerset Show Secretary is responsible for providing administrative and organisational support to ensure the successful planning and execution of the Mid-Somerset Show and other events and activities of the Charity.  This role requires excellent event management skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

  • Liaise with stakeholders, including committee members, sponsors, volunteers, regulatory Authorities and external organisations as required.
  • Support the planning and execution of all other activities and pre-show & post-show activities.
  • Liaise and prepare the meeting room for external showground hire including agreements and associated paperwork.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in event administration is preferable and within an agricultural or community event setting and or a Charity would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible working hours, with the possibility of occasional remote work by arrangement
