EventMasters, which launched its first online course ‘Festival Futures’ this week, is designed for anyone passionate about building a career in festivals and live events.
From students and career changers to freelancers, creatives, and future promoters, learners gain access to expert-led content, helping them shape lasting careers in the industry.
Led by professionals from every corner of the festival and live events world, including production, operations, brand, marketing and more, EventMasters brings experience-driven insight to learners at every stage.
Whether it be a festival entrepreneur launching a debut event, a recent graduate looking to deepen understanding, or somebody completely new to the events industry, the platform offers self-paced online education, with access to the tools, knowledge and expertise needed to shape a long-lasting career in the industry.
The ‘Festival Futures’ Course, the first of multiple courses to launch, is rich in content and accompanied by practical tools – all at a launch price of £349. With 7 core modules, lifetime access, and downloadable templates for budgeting, site design and more, the course sets a new benchmark for quality and value in the sector.
The platform is a joint venture, co-founded by Nick Morgan, CEO of We Group and Vice Chair of the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), and Addi Merrill, producer and founder of Addi London.
Morgan has over 25 years of experience in the industry, and his agencies The Fair, We Are Placemaking and We Are OPS deliver all scales of festival and event production, placemaking, site operations, licensing and safety services. Clients include some of the most celebrated festivals, such as Boiler Room: London, Maiden Voyage, Labyrinth, Gottwood and Houghton, as well as some of the UK’s leading property developers. Additionally, as Vice Chair of AIF, Advisory Board Member of the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA), and member of boards across many more event organisations, he works continuously to lobby the government and encourage more support across the sector.
Merrill has been producing events since the early 2000s — from underground club nights featured in The Face to leading global brand marketing for major fashion, luxury, and lifestyle names. She has overseen events from London to New York to Sydney. Her global ‘Festival Ready’ campaign, with a sustainable product range and app, won a Wallpaper Design Award and delivered standout brand experiences at major festivals.
Collectively, and with the help of other leading professionals who run modules on the course, their mission is to inspire people from all backgrounds to see festivals and events as a viable, exciting career path, with this engaging and interactive learning experience.
Nick Morgan, Co-Founder of EventMasters and CEO of We Group), said:
“The events sector is growing rapidly, but access to practical, high-quality education remains limited. EventMasters bridges that gap with tools and insights that prepare learners for the realities of the industry.
“We’re creating a global platform that not only educates but helps shape the future direction of the live events industry. Whether you’re in London or Los Angeles, the skills we’re teaching are universal.
“EventMasters is here to champion independent culture, back new entrepreneurs, and help shape what’s next.”
Addi Merrill, Co-Founder of EventMasters and Founder & Creative Director of Addi London, said: “EventMasters is a game-changer. It’s been created to make the events and festival industry more accessible to anyone looking to build a career within it. It’s a rich, self-paced learning experience – designed to give people the knowledge, confidence and tools to step into the industry professionally.
“Festivals draw on a wide range of ideas, cultures and perspectives, and this course reflects that, offering structured learning for people at different stages of their journey.
“With around ten hours of content, learners can build real insight and be ready to contribute on-site this summer – not just in the UK, but anywhere festivals are taking place. It’s a dynamic, future-facing industry, and I’m proud to see this vision come to life as we grow the course and the community around it.”
Upcoming launches include specialised Masterclasses and a Level 2 Intermediate Course, as well as seasonal webinars and networking opportunities.
