The National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) has launched three new industry initiatives designed to strengthen the long-term future of outdoor events across the UK.
Spanning government advocacy, audience safety and professional development, the programmes represent a coordinated effort to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the industry today.
The launch builds on NOEA’s wider vision of “NOEA for All”, a commitment from the association to create an industry that is more inclusive, more connected and better supported at every level. At a time when events are operating in increasingly complex environments, the association is focusing not just on what is delivered, but on how the sector is enabled to succeed.
At the heart of this is a recognition that outdoor events do not exist in isolation. They rely on strong relationships with government, clear and evolving standards of safety and care, and a workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to deliver.
The first initiative, NOEA’s Local & National Government Initiative, is designed to strengthen the relationship between the outdoor events industry and policymakers. Through a combination of local engagement and national advocacy, it will work to improve understanding of the sector’s value, share best practice, and ensure outdoor events are better represented in policy and decision-making.
Alongside this, the Total Care & Safeguarding Campaign introduces a more holistic approach to audience safety. Moving beyond traditional definitions of security and medical provision, it brings together wellbeing, inclusion and personal support into a single, coordinated model, reflecting the evolving expectations of audiences and regulators alike.
Completing the programme, the NOEA Training Day focuses on the people behind events. Delivered in partnership with industry specialists, it provides practical, expert-led training across key areas of event delivery, supporting the ongoing development of skills, knowledge and operational excellence across the sector.
NOEA will deliver each programme through industry engagement, partnerships and targeted communications, ensuring they contribute to a stronger, more resilient and more recognised sector across the UK.
