During the last twelve months or so, Conferences have taken place at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park & Gardens (26th September 2006) AGM and Conference, Brighton Racecourse (21st November 2006, Manchester Sportcity (19th April 2007), Conwy, North Wales (8th November 2007), AGM and Conference, Bristol (20th November 2007).
Unfortunately one or two conferences had to be postponed. There is only a short window of opportunities to arrange conferences during the year, bearing in mind that we keep clear of the few weeks prior to the Annual Convention and immediately afterwards. The “open season” in effect commences late October through to late November and then late March through to early May. This does not allow a great deal of time and NOEA may try to arrange a “conference roadshow” in a week, say Tuesday and Thursday. Proposed venues for 2008 include Loseley Park, Nr Guildford (16th April), Dundee (23rd April) and Cardiff, Buxton and Leeds (October/November) – subject to confirmation and amendments.
The Conferences, in addition to the Annual Convention have proved beyond any doubt that Members receive a great deal of good information, training and education as well as being recognized as unique networking opportunities for outdoor events – gaining knowledge from expert speakers and sharing experiences on topical issues.
The Conferences and indeed the Convention have become recognized as unique opportunities where like minded people in the outdoor events industry are able to network, gain knowledge from expert speakers and share experiences on topical issues.
